About the Role
Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility serving Kentucky’s Veterans. We are seeking a self-motivated, energetic Patient Aide I to provide compassionate care and support to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Make beds, pass ice and snacks, and transport residents
- Escort residents to and from medical appointments
- Pass towels and washcloths
- Train to assist with feeding and tray setup in the dining room
- Learn the dietary needs of residents to prepare meal tickets
- Clean ice machines, wheelchairs, and refrigerators
- Assist with resident laundry and stock gloves and other supplies in resident rooms
- Provide excellent customer service
Requirements
No formal education, experience, or special requirements (age, licensure, etc.) are necessary for this role.
Working Conditions
- Normal working conditions within a healthcare facility
- Exposure to persons with abnormal behaviors and/or contagious diseases
- Frequent exposure to blood and body fluids; adherence to safety procedures is required
Pay
Salary: $14.84 hourly
Additional Information
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 9 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
