PATIENT ACCESS TRAINER

About the role
The Patient Access Trainer is responsible for performing all training duties, including pre-class preparation, delivering curriculum (classroom, online/virtual, one-on-one), and post-class tasks. Trainers will master and deliver curriculum across multiple subjects, applications, learners’ roles, and formats, creating an unrivaled training experience. The trainer will provide ongoing support and training to associates beyond the new hire and onboarding phases.
Responsibilities
- Conduct all new hire training (classroom, computer lab, and online/virtual) functions, including orientation, meet and greets, revenue cycle training, application training, and role-specific classes.
- Conduct continuing education classes (classroom, computer lab, and online/virtual) for new/existing applications, processes, programs, and Microsoft Office across the enterprise.
- Complete all pre- and post-class activities such as reviewing and preparing training content/materials, printing training materials/rosters, prepping computers/laptops, validating attendance, completing participant report cards, grading assessments, and completing associated learning management system tasks.
- Set up and break down physical classrooms and virtual environments.
- Work with the training specialist, instructional designer, other training team members, leaders, and clients to coordinate trainings and confirm accuracy of course content, timing, and effectiveness.
- Provide go-live support for new applications and processes, including coordinating and conducting post-go-live visits/check-ins.
- Successfully complete the train-the-trainer program, including application credentialing (e.g., Epic), cross-training, and training techniques/facilitation.
- Provide support for company-wide and location-specific events such as town halls, holiday celebrations, and company culture events.
- Analyze workflows and navigation, offering suggestions or solutions to participants, leaders, and other trainers.
- Quickly and accurately assess root cause issues behind problems and prepare concise leadership summaries describing the issue, potential solutions, and recommended paths to proceed.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Prior medical office and/or hospital admitting experience, including billing, preferred.
- Prior customer relations experience required.
- Prior computer, keyboarding, and 10-key calculator experience required.
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

- Ability to operate fax, computer, and copy machines.
