Patient Access Team Lead
Hourly wage estimate: $17.36 - $26.05 per hour. The estimate represents the typical wage range of candidates hired; actual salary may vary based on skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
About the role
As a Patient Access Team Lead, you will provide feedback on daily registration processes and staffing issues to the Patient Access Supervisor or Manager. You will assist staff-level employees to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures, and support leadership with staffing, report reconciliation, and QA processes.
Responsibilities
- Staff and order supplies according to budget guidelines and department needs.
- Assist Manager and/or Supervisor in creating staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
- Model AIDET guidelines in all patient interactions and ensure staff adhere to patient experience expectations.
- Promote and demonstrate excellent customer service.
- Maintain QA statistics (including patient wait times) and report results to Supervisor or Manager.
- Oversee daily activities of the registration area to ensure department standards are met.
- Assist Supervisor and/or Manager in educating registration staff on role-related changes.
- Relieve staff members during sick/vacation time when appropriate.
- Secure all necessary signatures for treatments, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services from legally responsible patients.
- Work closely and professionally with nursing and ancillary departments to maintain a teamwork approach.
- Excel in all functions performed by patient representatives in registration areas.
- Collect and request deposits and copays.
- Assume on-call responsibilities to ensure adequate staffing and problem-solving.
- Register all patient types.
- Assist in resolving patient concerns.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year of related experience required.
