About the role

The Patient Access Technician (PAT) at MultiCare is responsible for ensuring accurate patient admissions and registrations according to organization policy and procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations
  • Obtain inpatient bed assignments and processes inpatient admission, including arm banding, addressograph plate, and completion of necessary forms
  • Pre-admit all scheduled inpatient, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate a smooth and speedy admission/registration process
  • Obtain direct admit information and enter a reservation in the computer system in order to notify other areas
  • Complete comprehensive bedside or telephone interviews with the patient, relative, or their representative to obtain pertinent demographic, insurance and/or third-party liability information
  • Perform eligibility verification and resolves any discrepancies, determine the need for financial assistance recommendation and application, referring to the Financial Counselor where necessary

Pay and Benefits

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale is $24.88 - $37.85 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
