About the role

Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours per pay period) Patient Access Services Representative to work on-site at our Grand Rapids location. This role is essential to the registration process, ensuring accurate patient information, insurance verification, and financial account security.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients for scheduled appointments, obtaining necessary consents, signatures, documents, and insurance verification.
  • Schedule patient appointments and collect co-pays at the time of service.
  • Identify coverage or self-pay issues and engage Financial Advocates as needed.
  • Enter patient information and scan required documents in the scheduling system.
  • Collaborate with the Business Department to support the revenue cycle.
  • Utilize strong customer service skills with both patients and coworkers.
  • Adhere to all Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital policies and maintain consistent, reliable attendance.
  • Cover all Patient Access areas as needed and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Associate degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • Ability to collect co-payments and present fiscal information.
  • Strong computer skills and excellent customer service abilities.
  • One year of admitting experience and/or health insurance experience is preferred.
