About the role

As a Patient Access Scheduling Coordinator (PASC) at Moffitt Cancer Center, you are responsible for registering patients as they arrive for their visit and scheduling any orders and appointments requested by the patient’s care team as patients depart within all clinics under direct supervision. You will gather accurate information, explain forms and policies, and answer patient questions. The role focuses on scheduling and communicating with patients for future appointments from request lists. You must be comfortable with medical terminology and thrive in an environment with many competing priorities and demands.

This position provides administrative support for one or more outpatient clinics, ensuring accurate appointment management and coordination of administrative information between professional staff and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients upon arrival and schedule orders/appointments as requested by the care team.
  • Gather and verify accurate patient information.
  • Explain forms, policies, and procedures to patients.
  • Answer patient questions and address concerns.
  • Manage future appointment scheduling from request lists.
  • Coordinate administrative information between staff and patients.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
  • Utilize critical thinking to problem-solve, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate’s Degree (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate and interact courteously with individuals from diverse backgrounds and healthcare team members.
  • Strong organizational skills to set up and maintain record systems.
  • Proficiency in customer service, multitasking, computer/typing skills, and use of office automation equipment/software.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Attention to detail, patience, and composure in stressful situations.
  • Comfort with medical terminology.

Pay

Salary range: $17.17 - $25.90 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, skills, education, and internal equity among team members in similar positions.
