About the role

This position greets and welcomes patients and families in person or on the telephone, optimizes clinic efficiency, maintains patient accounts, collects co-pays and balances, protects patient confidentiality, interacts with medical professionals, and handles customer service tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and welcomes patients and families in person or on the telephone.
  • Schedules appointments appropriately, either by phone or in person.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information accurately and effectively.
  • Collects co-pays and prior patient balances.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Manages ancillary scheduling and referrals.
  • Interacts with medical professionals and other care team members from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1 year of customer service experience.

Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations.
  • Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing.

Skills

  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Pay

$15.00 per hour

Schedule

Shifts vary based on clinic needs. Hours of operation include Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM for specialty clinics and Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM for after-hours care, with additional weekend and holiday coverage.
