Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient‑focused customer service to patients, families, physicians, and clinical staff
- Perform inpatient and/or outpatient registration, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, pre‑certifications, and authorizations
- Explain financial responsibility, including copays, deductibles, and self‑pay estimates, in a clear and compassionate manner
- Collect patient payments at time of service in accordance with organizational policies
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality while documenting information in registration systems
- Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to patient access and financial clearance
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Previous experience in healthcare registration, patient access, or medical front office is preferred
- Knowledge of insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers is required
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential
- An attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment is necessary
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health record systems are preferred
Work Environment
This position may work in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, or procedural settings and requires flexibility to meet patient care and operational needs.
Pay Range
Pay range based on experience and location: $19.64-28.80
