Role Purpose
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring high-quality customer service, emotional intelligence, and professionalism. They handle all aspects of patient registration and scheduling across multiple BJC facilities, ensuring accurate insurance information, benefit verification, and point-of-service collections.
Responsibilities
- Problem-solve and communicate professionally with patients, families, and colleagues in various settings.
- Ensure proper patient identification, registration, and scheduling.
- Verify insurance completeness and sign-off on orders.
- Provide preparation instructions and financial education for scheduled procedures.
- Comply with complex regulatory guidelines related to Medicare Secondary Payer, HIPAA, and other healthcare regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- No prior experience required
- Associate's Degree preferred
- Supervisor experience preferred
