Job Duties

  • Checks patients in for appointments and verifies demographics.
  • Maintains accurate records and monitors patient wait times.
  • Reads and interprets insurance responses and assigns insurance tiers.
  • Ensures patients receive necessary disclosure and privacy information.
  • Communicates financial obligations to patients and collects fees.
  • Completes necessary regulatory forms and communicates appointment details.
  • Schedules follow-up appointments and ancillary services.
  • Processes multi-channel messages related to patient and physician requests.
  • Notifies patients of anticipated financial responsibility and collects accordingly.
  • Performs cash postings according to department guidelines.
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Independently works through work queues to resolve accounts promptly.
  • Maintains productivity and quality performance standards.
  • Accurately maintains and releases medical records.
  • Assists with referrals and pre-certifications during encounters.
  • Utilizes and manages patient recall and reschedule lists.
  • Requirements

    • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

    Qualifications

    • Clerical I certification.
    • Knowledge of office politics and confidentiality.
    • Effective communication and customer service skills.
