About the role
This position is part-time and requires 24 hours per week, working weekends and holidays. The schedule runs from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Major Responsibilities
- Creates the initial electronic health record.
- Prevents creation of duplicate medical records.
- Fulfills compliance with accrediting bodies' mandates.
- Checks in and registers patients.
- Verifies and collects patient information.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
- Communicates with patients about insurance coverage and financial responsibilities.
- Schedules and coordinates patient appointments.
- Provides patient information and assistance.
- Maintains and monitors electronic health record work queues.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service.

- Confidentiality of information.
- General understanding of health insurance types.
- Knowledge and ability to explain Medicare/HIPAA/EMTALA rules and regulations.
- Organizational skills.
- Resourcefulness and ability to assist other staff.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Exposure to weather and road conditions.
- Responds quickly to patient medical status and emergencies.
- CPR certification may be required based on service location.
- Notary training/licensure may be required as appropriate for service line and/or facility.
- Operates all necessary equipment.
- Significant patient and public contact.
- May be exposed to ill or contagious patients.
- Must be able to transition between sitting and standing frequently.
- Standing and sitting for extended periods.
- Occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Frequently lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
Preferred Job Requirements
