Employment Type:Part timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:ORIENTATION IS MON-FRI 8a-4:30p FOR 2 WEEKS Includes classroom time in Springfield at Mercy Medical CenterPosition PurposeCompletes patient registrations/pre-registration processes in the ED following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.What you will doPerforms complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functionsVerifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefitsEnsures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are Collects non-covered feesMinimum QualificationsMinimum High school or equivalentOne year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferredStrong interpersonal, communication and interview skillsDemonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devicesKnowledge of medical terminology and medical insurancesPosition Highlights and BenefitsPart time 16hrs every two week cycle (equivalent of 8hr per week) on weekday 6:45a-3:15p shiftTRAINING/ORIENTATION IS 2 WEEKS MON-FRI 8A-4:30P including time in Springfield, MAMinistry/Facility InformationJohnson Memorial Hospital and Home & Community Health Services provide a continuum of health care services to those living and working in north central Connecticut and western Massachusetts.
