Patient Access / Registration Rep - 16hr
Position Purpose
Completes patient registrations/pre-registration processes in the ED following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.
What You Will Do
- Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
- Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits
- Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are
- Collections non-covered fees
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum High school or equivalent
- One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Part time
16hrs including every other weekend rotating evenings (3-11:30p) and nights (11p-7:30a)
Orientation
Orientation is Monday through Friday on 8-4:30 days for 2-3 weeks
Half will be in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center
