About the role
The Patient Access Associate I is the first level of a three-level career ladder within Central Registration & Admitting. This role serves as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors arriving at Memorial Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors arriving at the hospital.
- Works closely with clinical care teams and completes Access functions at the bedside or within the clinical care environment.
- Accurately identifies and registers patients.
- Provides customer service support for visitors and families.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Related experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred.
- Computer and data entry experience required with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively with electronic systems.
Qualifications
- Flexible to work open shifts due to PTO, callouts, and fluctuating volumes.
- Willingness to pick up shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
