Essential Key Responsibilities

  • Aids in specimen accession to ensure quality.
  • Obtains clinical history as needed to enhance data.
  • Prepares tissues for histologic processing by describing anatomic features and dissecting specimens.
  • Collects and performs special procedures such as tumor triage, coronary artery perfusion, and toxilogical material analysis.
  • Photographs pertinent gross and microscopic specimens.
  • Maintains department protocols and reports, ensuring their completion and accuracy.
  • Participates in Quality Management Committee to drive continuous improvement.
  • Trains staff to improve qualification and consistency in work output.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and recommends necessary disciplinary actions.

Education/Licensure/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science.
  • Completion of a Pathologists Assistant program accredited by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience as a Pathologists’ Assistant.

Schedule

Full-time: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
