Essential Key Responsibilities

• Aids in specimen accession to assure appropriate specimen handling.
• Collects and prepares biological specimens for analysis and performs special procedures.
• Photographs and documents pertinent gross and microscopic specimens.
• Maintains and updates surgical pathology protocols and reports.
• Participates in Quality Management Committee to ensure consistent quality improvement.
• Assists in troubleshooting problem cases and assists Pathologists in producing accurate diagnoses.
• Maintains department staffing schedule to ensure continuous function.
• Develops and conducts training programs to enhance staff qualifications and ability to produce high-quality work.
• Conducts performance evaluations and recommends necessary disciplinary actions.

Education/Licensure/Certification

• Bachelor in Laboratory Science.
• Completion of a Pathologists Assistant program accredited by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

Experience

• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Pathologists’ Assistant.

Location: Tyler, TX 75701
Days: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Full-time: Benefit Eligible
