About the role

Domestic Violence Services (DVS) provides a variety of comprehensive immediate and long-term support services to survivors of domestic violence and their families. DVS oversees the largest domestic shelter system in the country, offering safety and services to over 17,500 victims annually.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff responsible for assessing DHS PATH referrals for domestic violence services, including placement assistance to emergency shelters and transitional housing facilities.
  • Provide crisis information and referrals to non-residential services.
  • Review the work of subordinates; make recommendations and decisions on complex cases.
  • Interface and establish relationships with DHS staff and domestic violence service providers to ensure appropriate and expeditious delivery of services.
  • Maintain internal administrative controls for tracking actions and forms submitted on each referral.
  • Collaborate with the Project NoVA Director on planning and developing procedures and control systems to ensure appropriate servicing and required recording on high-volume referrals.
  • Prepare periodic reports on operations for evaluative purposes and recommend policies and procedures for program improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Project NoVA Director on staff training and identify service gaps/staff training needs.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • At least two years of full-time satisfactory experience practicing social work utilizing casework, group work, and community organization methodologies, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • A valid Certified Social Worker (CSW) certificate or Licensed Master of Social Work license (LMSW) issued by the New York State Department of Education.

Pay

$77,211.00 – $88,793.00

Schedule

Sundays: 9am to 5pm
Mondays thru Thursdays: 10am-6pm
