The Inn at Canaan Valley is a growing property in beautiful Canaan Valley, adding luxury suites and cabins. We’re looking for someone who loves being around people and making their day a little better.
About the role
Part-time Mini-Golf Attendant responsible for merchandise and mini-golf sales, concession stand service, and delivering great customer experiences. You’ll keep play moving on the course, maintain cleanliness, and assist with events and emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors, provide directions, and answer questions
- Maintain course safety by enforcing rules and monitoring play
- Keep the course and restrooms clean and stocked (sweeping, restocking supplies, trash removal)
- Supervise birthday parties, group outings, and other rentals
- Plan and lead program activities
- Answer phones and provide facility information
- Set up and maintain supplies and equipment, ensuring proper functionality
- Respond to emergencies calmly, follow procedures, and administer first aid when needed
- Perform other related tasks as they arise
Requirements
- General understanding of facility operations, safety precautions, and customer service
- Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds, especially children and families
- Ability to handle moderate physical work and remain calm under stress
- Clear and courteous communication (in person, by phone, and in writing) with strong English skills
- Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Reliable, punctual, adaptable, and enthusiastic with a service-first attitude
- Ability to follow written and spoken instructions and record information accurately
- Promote responsible behavior and work well as part of a team
Physical Demands
- Regularly walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, bend, and reach
- Use hands for grasping, repetitive movements, and fine coordination (e.g., operating equipment)
- Lift, carry, or move objects up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 60 pounds
- Occasional short stretches in awkward positions
- Clear speaking and good hearing for accurate communication, sometimes in loud environments
- Good visual acuity for operating equipment, reading data, and inspecting details
Work Environment
- Outdoor setting with seasonal conditions: heat (above 100°F for extended periods), adverse weather, humidity, wet/slippery surfaces, dust, fumes, and insect bites
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, allergenic substances, and blood/body fluids (when administering first aid)
- Occasional work near moving mechanical parts and loud noise requiring raised voices
- Interaction with distressed or upset guests while enforcing policies
- May require wearing specialized personal protective equipment
Pay
$12.00–$15.00 per hour (based on experience)
