About the role
The Scot JCB Group is a highly specialized machinery distribution company with over 60 years of experience in supplying and servicing JCB machinery in Scotland and the North of England. This role involves supporting the day-to-day running of the Parts Department, ensuring the efficient flow of goods, accurate order picking, and timely dispatch of customer and internal orders.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the Parts Department
- Affirming the efficient flow of goods
- Affirming the accurate order picking
- Affirming the timely dispatch of customer and internal orders
- Working closely with the Parts, Service, and Sales teams to maintain high standards of service and efficiency
- Receiving, checking, and booking in goods accurately
- Picking parts accurately for customer orders and internal requirements
- Packing goods securely to ensure safe delivery
- Owning and managing the dispatch process from start to finish
- Liaising with transport providers and coordinating collections
- Organising warranty parts for return to suppliers
- Taking ownership of the warranty returns process, ensuring compliance with procedures and deadlines
- Processing returns accurately and maintaining clear records
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely
- Sustaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment

- Supporting stock takes and cycle counting activities
- Assisting with urgent requests and prioritizing workloads effectively
- Supporting departmental efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Undertaking all other reasonable warehouse duties as required
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience (ideally within plant, agricultural, automotive or a similar parts-based environment)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
- A high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in picking, packing, and stock control
- A proactive and responsible approach, with the ability to take ownership of key processes
- A good understanding of warehouse systems and processes
- Basic IT skills (e.g., stock systems, Microsoft applications)
- A drivers license (essential)
- A fork lift licence (desirable but not essential)
- A flexible and positive attitude towards work
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A strong awareness of health and safety in a warehouse environment

Pay
Competitive hourly rate, reviewed yearly
Schedule
Minimum 39-hour working week plus regular overtime. Hours will vary between 7:00am-5:30pm Monday to Friday and include every 2nd Saturday morning.
