About the role

This role is responsible for optimizing inventory levels across the organization to ensure parts availability while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs. The Parts Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in supporting inventory performance, supply chain effectiveness, and overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records across multiple systems and locations.
  • Analyze inventory utilization, demand trends, lead times, and stocking levels.
  • Develop recommendations to optimize inventory investments while maintaining service levels.
  • Perform inventory audits and assist with reconciliation efforts.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support inventory planning and decision-making.
  • Forecast future inventory requirements using historical trends and business data.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce obsolete inventory and improve inventory turnover.
  • Partner with purchasing teams to ensure timely replenishment of stocked parts.
  • Work closely with suppliers regarding lead times, shortages, and backorder situations.
  • Recommend and help implement inventory process improvements throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with branch parts teams to support inventory accuracy and control initiatives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities related to inventory management, storage, and procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and procedures.
  • Support inventory-related projects and cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and utilize data effectively.
  • Experience working with inventory management software, ERP systems, and reporting tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting functions.
  • Experience with systems such as SQL, Halo, RIM, or similar inventory platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments and locations.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPIM certification or related inventory management certifications are preferred but not required.
