About the role

The Tax Senior Manager, Partnerships at BDO is responsible for advising clients on partnership-specific tax matters, such as section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis, and TRA calculations. This role requires a deep understanding of partnership taxation and the ability to apply this knowledge to maximize client benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and develops an in-depth understanding of partnership taxation issues.
  • Applies technical and practical knowledge to advise clients on tax implications of business objectives.
  • Develops and implements efficient methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing taxes.
  • Manages client expectations and builds strong client relationships.
  • Trains and mentors associates, senior associates, and managers on research and tax consulting skills.
  • Manages workload and schedules tasks for associates, senior associates, and managers.
  • Provides performance feedback to team members.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Private equity experience, both fund and portfolio company levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, or a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred.
  • Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred.
  • CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferred.
  • Software proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software.

  • Ability to cultivate a positive team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of team personnel.

National Range: $99,750 - $262,500
