About the role

The Tax Senior Manager, Partnerships at BDO is responsible for advising clients on partnership-specific tax matters, including 704(b) and 734(b) adjustments, TRA calculations, and other related areas. This role requires a deep understanding of partnership taxation and the ability to apply this knowledge to maximize client benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and develops an in-depth understanding of partnership taxation issues
  • Applies tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions
  • Develops and implements efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits
  • Manages client expectations and expectations of the team
  • Develops and leads marketing campaigns, if applicable
  • Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel

Requirements

  • Eight (8) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Private equity experience, both fund and portfolio company levels

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics
  • Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
  • CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations)
  • Software proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software

  • Executive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements
  • Ability to cultivate a positive team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of team personnel
