About the role
The Tax Senior Manager, Partnerships at BDO is responsible for advising clients on partnership taxation, developing strategies to maximize client benefits, and leading the marketing and business development of the group. This role requires a deep understanding of partnership taxation and the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex tax issues.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and develops an in-depth understanding of partnership taxation
- Applies tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions
- Develops and implements tax strategies
- Manages client expectations and builds strong client relationships
- Trains and mentors associates, senior associates, and managers
- Develops and leads marketing campaigns
Requirements
- Eight (8) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- Private equity experience, both fund and portfolio company levels
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics
- Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
- Specialized partnership experience
- License/Certifications: CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations)
- Software proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, tax research databases, and tax compliance process software
