Partnership Tax Senior Manager, Advanced Computational Services
About the role
The Tax Senior Manager, Partnerships at BDO is responsible for advising clients on partnership-specific tax matters, including 704(b), 734(b), 743(b), and TRA calculations. This role involves applying knowledge to understand and mitigate potential partnership taxation issues, and assisting in the preparation of partnership-specific computations. The role also includes participating in marketing and business development efforts, leading process improvement initiatives, and maintaining client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and develops an in-depth understanding of partnership taxation issues
- Develops and conducts effective external CPE training sessions in partnership taxation
- Trains and mentors associates, senior associates, and managers on research and tax issue framing
- Applies tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions and maximize client benefits
- Manages client expectations and implements applicable Firm strategies
- Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve client positions, the Firm, or Firm personnel
- Researches and implements tax strategies, including experimenting with new strategies
- Presents complex strategies to clients and prospective clients
- Schedules and manages workload of associates, senior associates, and managers
- Provides verbal and written performance feedback to associates, senior associates, and managers
Requirements
Eight (8) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience are required. Prior supervisory experience and specialized partnership experience are preferred. A CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations) is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tax research databases and compliance process software is also preferred.

- Bachelor’s degree, major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, preferred
- Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
- Specialized partnership experience, required
- Supervisory experience, required
- Private equity experience, both fund and portfolio company levels, preferred

National Range: $99,750 - $262,500
Maryland Range: $99,750 - $262,500
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $99,750 - $262,500
Washington DC Range: $99,750 - $262,500
