Partner Account Executive
Responsibilities
- Align strategically with partners to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Drive business growth by managing relationships and developing joint business plans aligned to Akamai's strategy.
- Create and execute distributor onboarding, training, and certification initiatives to activate their sales and technical communities.
- Partner with Akamai Partner Executives and Major Account Executives to ensure distributors actively source, register, and support new opportunities.
- Leverage distributor marketing resources to run campaigns, sponsorships, and events that promote Akamai solutions and drive demand.
- Facilitate quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and executive meetings to track performance, remove roadblocks, and accelerate growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of sales engineers to ensure successful consultative engagements with partners and customers.
Requirements
- 8+ years in distribution, channel account management, or partner facing sales roles in the technology industry.
- Experience managing Optiv or VARs with similar go-to-market strategies.
- An understanding of distributor go-to-market models and the value they bring in scaling vendors.
- A track record of building and growing partnerships that deliver revenue results and quota achievement.
- Experience in security, cloud, or networking solutions.
- The ability to travel to events and meetings as needed.
About the Role
Akamai is enhancing its channel-first approach by adding a Partner Account Executive to improve reach and partner success supporting Optiv. The Partner Account Executive will manage relationships, drive business, and establish long-term growth strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CIPP/I, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
For US based candidates only - The On Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) for this position ranges from $173,600 - $312,400/year; a candidate’s OTE is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary.

Flexible schedule to accommodate remote work and travel as needed.
