Part-Time Teacher

About the role

LearnWell is seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Riverside, RI on a part-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility providing academic support for 5–18 year old patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment. In this role, you will deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. You will also monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Schedule

• 20-hour per week commitment
• Monday–Friday, 9 AM–1 PM

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily lesson plans
• Provide individualized assistance to students
• Communicate regularly about student progress
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Rhode Island teaching license (required)
• Comfortable working with K–12 students
• Strong organizational skills
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
• Reliable transportation
