About the role
We are seeking a passionate and creative part-time teacher to join our team in Houston, TX for the school year. This unique position involves working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support for 5–18 year old patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment. Most class sizes range from 8 to 15 students at any one time.
Responsibilities
- Deliver daily lesson plans tailored to students in a behavioral health setting
- Provide individualized assistance to students
- Regularly communicate about student progress as needed
- Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate attendance and session reports
Requirements
- B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution
- Active Texas teaching license
- Comfortable working with students grades 8–12
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
- Reliable transportation
Schedule
15 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–2:30 PM.
