About the Role
This part-time security officer position offers a fixed weekly shift at an assigned site with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts through the company's scheduling platform. The role is designed for candidates seeking reliable part-time hours with the option to work up to 40 hours per week as needed.
How This Role Works
- Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through the scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it's up to you.
Pay and Schedule
- Pay Rate: $25.05 / hour
- Schedule: Thursday, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property buildings, common areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor, tenant, and vendor activity in accordance with site requirements; document security-related incidents, observations, and patrol activity.
- Communicate professionally with property management, tenants, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns and site conditions.
Minimum Requirements
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
