Job description

The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position provides flexible, dependable hours for individuals looking to supplement income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career. As a Security Guard Corporate Building Part Time Patrol Officer in New York, NY, you will have a reliable base schedule at an assigned site with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

How it works

  • Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule; requires a six‑month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: in addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through the scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.
  • Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next; you can scale back when needed, with the opportunity to build up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
  • Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Meet any licensing requirements mandated by state and/or local laws (e.g., New York State Department of State licensing).
  • A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Pay

$20.05 – $21.05 per hour.

Schedule

Daytime Sunday shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (anchor shift). Additional shifts can be claimed via the scheduling platform.
