About the Role
Assists Store Management with in-store supervision, including directing personnel at our new store in Commerce Square, Brownwood, TX. This position functions as a front-line member of the Retail Store Leadership Team, providing effective leadership, resolving guest issues, and maintaining high levels of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and approve guest returns in accordance with retail policies.
- Oversee associates' guest service levels and provide feedback as needed.
- Utilize the GUESTS program for interactions on the sales floor, phone, or when handling guest-owned jewelry.
- Prepare and review supply orders from the JAC warehouse and other purchasing channels.
- Perform leadership responsibilities for store opening and closing duties.
- Provide leadership and training to associates, emphasizing guest service and sales.
- Coordinate regular and seasonal associate training.
- Delegate assignments to associates.
- Assist in the annual inventory process, cycle counting, inventory adjustments, and shipping/receiving of merchandise.
- Notify appropriate retail and corporate personnel of inventory issues.
- Participate in and assist with regularly scheduled store meetings.
- Implement plans for company special events and promotions.
- Develop and conduct team-building activities.
- Monitor product trends and communicate changes to the District Manager.
- Operate and train staff on all service equipment (e.g., polish motor, PUK weld equipment, ultrasonic unit, small tools, and related chemicals).
- Ensure product care services meet or exceed operational standards.
- Perform staging, setup, maintenance, and replacement of display items using visual merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain company standards for overall store presentation.
- Process employee purchases in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Ensure company security procedures are followed to protect assets.
- Review and create employee schedules, ensuring operational, budgetary, and customer service guidelines are met.
- Assume a lead role in the absence of other leadership team members.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with departmental and cross-functional teams to foster positive working relationships.
- Assist in other areas as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1-year retail or customer service experience preferred (or equivalent education/experience).
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must pass a background check and alcohol, controlled substance, and illegal drug screen meeting company standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety regulations and training.
- Adherence to all company policies, including attendance, harassment-free workplace, and electronic communication guidelines.
