Full Time Sales Team Leader - Brownwood, TX. (New Store)

About the role

Assists Store Management with in-store supervision, including directing personnel at our new store opening at Commerce Square in Brownwood, TX. Provides effective leadership to all associates and displays the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists guests in selection and purchase of merchandise.
• Resolves guest issues effectively and keeps supervisor informed of product, guest, and/or personnel issues.
• Monitors and approves guest’s returns in accordance with retail policies.
• Monitors associates' guest service levels; provides feedback as needed.
• Utilizes GUESTS program when interacting with guests on the sales floor or phone and when handling guest-owned jewelry.
• Prepares and reviews supply orders from the JAC warehouse; prepares orders for other items through applicable purchasing channels.
• Performs leadership responsibilities for store opening and closing duties.
• Provides leadership and training to associates in all areas of responsibility, with emphasis on guest service and sales.
• Coordinates regular associate training and/or seasonal associate training.
• Delegates assignments to associates.
• Assists in the annual inventory process, ensuring compliance with established processes and guidelines.
• Assists in inventory cycle counting, inventory adjustments, shipping and receiving of merchandise, while following company procedures.
• Notifies the appropriate retail and corporate personnel when inventory issues are discovered.
• Participates and assists in conducting regularly scheduled store meetings.
• Implements plans to effectively participate in company special events and/or promotions.
• Develops and conducts team-building activities.
• Monitors product trends and changes in retail, communicating updates to the District Manager.
• Performs product care duties, including operating service equipment such as polish motors, PUK weld equipment, ultrasonic units, and related chemicals to complete in-store services.
• Trains staff to operate all service area equipment and small tools.
• Ensures product care services meet or exceed operational standards.
• Performs staging, setup, maintenance, and replacement of display items using visual merchandising guide parameters.
• Assists store management in maintaining company standards for overall store presentation.
• Processes employee purchases in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Ensures company security procedures are used to protect assets.
• Reviews/creates employee schedules in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, ensuring schedules follow operational, budgetary guidelines, and meet customer service levels.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Multitasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Observes all safety regulations; participates in safety training; reports unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Adheres to all company policies, including attendance, freedom from harassment, and electronic communication guidelines.
• Assumes a lead role in the absence of other leadership team members.
• Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborates with team members, both departmental and cross-functional, to build positive working relationships and establish trust.
• Assists in other areas as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1-year retail or customer service experience preferred (or equivalent education/experience).
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Must pass a background check, alcohol, controlled substance, and illegal drug screen that meets company standards before beginning employment.
