Part-Time Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in complex and critical care settings. They perform procedures such as ventilator management, airway management, arterial blood gas sampling, and pulmonary diagnostics. The RT II collaborates with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. They are responsible for educating patients, families, and staff, and participating in staff development and performance improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care and educationPerform assessments, verify orders, and administer therapies including ventilator weaning and airway managementManage invasive and non-invasive procedures and interpret waveform graphicsPromote a safe environment by ensuring accurate documentation, electronic orders, and compliance with safety protocolsMentor and precept new employees, students, and peersContribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practices Qualifications & Skills Minimum of an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory TherapyRequired certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical careStrong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and computer skillsAbility to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide excellent customer service
