Part-Time Respiratory Therapist

About the role

This position involves providing direct respiratory care to pediatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation within hospital guidelines. The Registered Respiratory Therapist applies advanced clinical expertise, ensuring patient safety through developmentally appropriate care and adherence to regulatory standards. The role requires effective communication, collaboration with healthcare teams, and education of patients, families, and staff about respiratory treatments and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures following established standards and policies.
• Utilize clinical knowledge to troubleshoot and support advanced respiratory interventions such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and sleep studies.
• Educate and train patients, families, and team members, promoting diversity and learning styles.
• Engage in continuous learning, self‑accountability, and effective time management.
• Communicate effectively through documentation and handoffs, working collaboratively within the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or accreditation from a CoARC‑approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licenses & Certifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT, and Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BLS).
• No prior experience required, but advanced skills in critical care are preferred.
• Preferred education includes a Bachelor’s Degree.
