Part Time Pool - Counselor (Eops/Care/Nextup)

About the role
Under administrative leadership, part-time faculty counselors support the advancement of the colleges’ and District’s visions, missions, and values. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, student evaluation, curriculum development, student advising, professional development, and assignment-specific tasks within the EOPS/CARE/NextUp programs.
This is a part-time, pool position with work hours varying based on assignment. The anticipated start date is Spring 2026.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, or the equivalent.
- For EOPS Counselors hired after October 24, 1987:
- Completion of a minimum of nine semester units of college coursework predominantly relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social, or economic disadvantages, or
- Completion of six semester units or the equivalent of a college-level counseling practicum or counseling fieldwork courses in a community college EOPS program, or in a program dealing predominantly with ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social, or economic disadvantages.
- If applying under equivalency, submission of an Equivalency Determination Form is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Arabic, or Spanish is highly desirable.
Working Conditions
Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom setting. Specific conditions may vary by subject taught.
Pay
Starting salary range: $50.32 - $61.17 per hour (Class II, step 1 to Class VI, step 1) based on the Adjunct, Overload and Substitute Salary Schedule.
