About the role

Under administrative leadership, part-time faculty perform tasks that support the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, student evaluation, curriculum development, student advising, professional development, and assignment-specific needs.

This is a part-time, pool position with work hours varying based on assignment. The anticipated start date is Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver counseling services to students in a mental health capacity.
  • Support student advising and academic planning.
  • Participate in curriculum development and professional development activities.
  • Perform duties related to classroom instruction and student evaluation.
  • Address assignment-specific needs as required by the department.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the above-listed fields and a current license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).
  • If applying under equivalency, submission of an Equivalency Determination Form is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current California license as a Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Clinical Psychologist.

Working Conditions

Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom or office setting. Specific conditions may vary by subject taught.

Pay

Starting salary range: $50.32 - $61.17 per hour (Class II, step 1 to Class VI, step 1), based on the Adjunct, Overload and Substitute Salary Schedule.
