About the Role
Provide professional nursing care in long-term care settings under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments
- Perform assessments and recognize/respond to health issues
- Document resident interactions and care activities
- Support residents' physical and psychosocial needs
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Contribute to care planning and resident education
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to clinical standards and certifications
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care
- Support resident safety and comfort
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes
- Perform technical tasks (e.g., IV therapy if required)
- Educate residents on self-care and health plans
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
- Valid LPN license
- Experience with clinical care, including IV therapy if required
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Complete ongoing education and competencies as required by the department and facility
