Part-Time Music Instructors for Music & Technology Majors at HASS

About the role

Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Music Instructor to join our faculty for the Music and Technology major. This role is essential in providing high-quality instruction and mentorship to undergraduate students enrolled in this innovative program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 14 hours of one-on-one instruction per student throughout the semester, focusing on music and technology subjects.
• Reach out to assigned students to arrange lesson times that accommodate both your schedule and the students' availability.
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students progress in their studies and achieve their academic goals.
• Maintain regular communication with students and the Music and Technology department to ensure smooth coordination and address any issues that may arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Technology. Advanced degrees or specialized training is a plus.
• Proven experience in music instruction or a related educational role, preferably with undergraduate students.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to tailor instruction to individual student needs and learning styles.
• Ability to commit to the part-time, fixed-term nature of the position from September 1st to June 1st.

Pay

This position offers a base pay rate of $80 per hour. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials.
