Brief Description Of Duties

We invite applications for a pool of part-time lecturers, should an opening arise, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the Department.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in chemistry or equivalent is strongly recommended, although an M.S. in chemistry with teaching experience would also be considered for selected laboratory courses.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, commitment to student learning and team performance are required.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
  • Must be able to organize classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

Skills

Excellence in teaching is expected. Candidates should be able to teach small to large lecture courses as well as laboratories. Teaching areas include biochemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry.

Pay

Schedule

Positions start at the beginning of a semester and appointments may be renewed based on department need, funding, and performance.

Employment Conditions
