About the role

The Part-Time Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department at Snapdragon Stadium. Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. May occasionally be required to support events. Candidates must be available to work up to 20 hours per week during business hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with screening and assist with reviewing candidate applications.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Aid in communication to candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Aid in onboarding in Applicant Tracking System (Cadient).
  • Carefully coordinate and schedule New Hire Orientation (NHO).
  • Communicate with candidates to follow up on onboarding requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate employee and recruiting spreadsheets.
  • Support HR programs, events, and employee communications.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee and candidate information.
  • Assist with routine HR administrative tasks, provide general support for recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations activities.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree required.
  • Currently enrolled at San Diego State University (SDSU) pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework and/or previous work, internship, volunteer, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products and proficient in telephone (Zoom) and email communication.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Capable of handling confidential information with a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and adherence to applicable privacy and data protection requirements.
  • Comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.

Skills

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English at a highly proficient level.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines and objectives.
  • Knowledge of mathematical figures, creating and interpreting spreadsheets.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret and apply written and oral instructions, analyze information, and exercise good judgment in resolving routine work-related issues.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs and work independently when appropriate.
  • Manual dexterity to utilize a computer and use a variety of office machines and equipment.
  • Physical communication to have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.
