Part Time Homebound Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time homebound teacher to provide individualized educational support to students who are unable to attend school.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, one-on-one or small group instruction to homebound students based on their individualized academic needs.
• Develop and deliver engaging daily lesson plans across various subject areas, aligned with district curriculum and student ability levels.
• Create, implement, and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to track student goals and progress.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records for all instructional sessions.
• Establish and maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to discuss student progress, challenges, and successes.
• Assess student work, provide timely feedback, and assign grades in accordance with district policies.
• Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and the student's healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and academic support.

Requirements

• Current California teaching credential or eligibility to obtain one within six months.
• Experience working with students who are homebound due to medical or disciplinary reasons.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and other school staff.
• Proficiency in using technology tools for remote instruction and collaboration.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
