Part Time Home Care Aide (HCA)

About the role

Visiting Angels of Sacramento is seeking compassionate, experienced caregivers to serve clients throughout Sacramento and surrounding areas. As a Part‑Time Home Care Aide (HCA), you will enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness according to custom care plans.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients, adhering to dietary constraints.
• Handle light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands.
• Use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID‑19 with documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for client transportation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time‑management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and supporting clients.
• Comfort with housekeeping and cooking duties while respecting dietary constraints.
• Willingness to comply with state and office health and safety standards, including background checks.
• Ability to use a smartphone for EVV and caregiver notes.
• Pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting.
• Negative TB screening within the last 90 days.
• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry.

Pay

Starting wage ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, based on availability and experience.

Schedule

• Full‑time and part‑time shifts available.
• 8‑hour and 10‑hour shift options.
