Part Time Flight Registered Nurse

About the role

Provides nursing care for Life Flight operations, following Act 37 standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Accepting duty assignments at various program sites as needed.
• Delivering patient care from initial contact to handoff at medical facilities.
• Maintaining detailed electronic medical records.
• Practicing within legal scope, maintaining competency through ongoing education.
• Communicating educational needs to leadership and completing safety-related reports.
• Maintaining equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of aircraft and ambulances.
• Serving as a flight crew member, assisting pilots, and participating in pre- and post-mission activities.
• Participating in specialty team transports (e.g., ECMO, NICU).
• Ensuring safety standards during flight operations and serving as a role model and preceptor for new staff.
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and contributing to safety and performance improvements.
• Adhering to safety standards, maintaining clinical competency, and actively participating in ongoing education and team activities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Critical care nursing experience (minimum of three years).
• Specialty certifications such as CCRN, CEN, CFRN, or CTRN (CFRN within one year of hire).
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, tolerate aircraft environment conditions, and travel as needed.

Schedule

Part-time role with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
