Part Time - Flight Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Life Flight environment, adhering to Act 37 standards and protocols.
• Accept duty assignments at various program sites as needed to ensure operational continuity.
• Deliver patient care from initial contact through transfer to medical facilities, documenting thoroughly in electronic medical records.
• Practice within the scope of practice defined by state, BEMS, and organizational guidelines, maintaining competency through ongoing education.
• Communicate educational needs to clinical leadership and complete required training and safety programs.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and medical environments for aircraft and ambulances, serving as a flight crew member.
• Support safety standards during all flight phases, acting as a role model, preceptor, and resource for healthcare professionals.
• Assist with specialty team transports (ECMO, NICU) and participate in safety and performance evaluations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum three years of critical care nursing experience.
• Specialty certification such as CCRN, CEN, CFRN, or CTRN (CFRN required within one year of orientation).
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in environments with noise, fumes, and extreme temperatures.
• Ability to sit for long periods and travel as needed.

Schedule

Part‑time role with 12‑hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
