About the role
The University of Tennessee – Knoxville (UTK) invites applications for part-time faculty to serve as Lecturer in the School of Architecture beginning August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach one or two courses per academic year in design studios and/or required lecture, seminar, or technology courses.
- Contribute to the School of Architecture’s curriculum, particularly in undergraduate and graduate studios addressing design foundations, building tectonics, construction representation, and sustainability.
- Engage in faculty meetings and provide an advisory role in the shared governance of the School.
Requirements
- Hold at least one of the following: an undergraduate degree in architecture and a graduate degree in architecture or a related field; a NAAB-accredited degree in architecture; or a doctoral degree in architecture or a related field.
- Teaching experience in the university setting, including as a TA.
- Experience with or ability to implement experimental teaching in terms of modality, methodology, and/or format.
- A portfolio of architectural design demonstrating innovation, quality, and experimentation.
- A creative practice that contributes to the discipline of architecture through tool-making, critique, prototyping, or other forms of creative activity.
- Professional licensure.
Qualifications
- Desired qualifications include experience with or ability to implement experimental teaching in terms of modality, methodology, and/or format.

Skills
- Ability to contribute expertise to the Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture curricula.
- Capacity to bring one's own voice, style, and ideas to studio courses.

Pay
Compensation is based on a per-course basis.
