Faculty, Architecture, Part-time

About the role

Part-time faculty position providing educational leadership and student instruction in Architecture. The successful candidate will teach BSD340 Detailing & Applications, an architecture course that explores the relationship between building materials, construction detailing, and building performance. Students develop knowledge and skills to create effective architectural details through drawing, design, and construction exercises, with emphasis on code compliance, durability, aesthetics, maintenance, and high-performance sustainable building practices.

Schedule

Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., on campus.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students in the Architecture area.
• Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
• Take attendance and maintain records of student attendance.
• Participate in School assessment process.
• Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
• Complete required trainings (e.g., Information Security, Sexual Harassment).
• Attend school meetings as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related discipline. Required
• Master’s Degree in Architecture or related discipline. Preferred

Experience

• Relevant teaching experience at a postsecondary school level. Preferred
• Coursework in or experience using technology in instruction. Preferred

Pay

The part-time rate for 2026/27 will be the greater of $1,180 per credit or $787 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $49.17 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
