Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach up to 2 courses in Graphic Design per semester.
- Prepare course materials, syllabi; evaluate and grade student assignments.
- Integrate the use of a learning management system (Blackboard Ultra) and other relevant new technology into instruction where applicable.
- Teach a varied schedule of courses that may include day/night, early morning, accelerated and virtual courses.
- Apply culturally relevant pedagogies to the teaching and learning process.
- Cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment that values and respects student diversity.
- Bring real-world industry experience into the classroom, sharing insights, case studies, and practical applications.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in graphic design, or related area.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience working in Graphic Design.
- Professional industry experience in Graphic Design.
- Experience teaching courses at the college level.
- Willingness to incorporate (and a familiarity with) current trends in new technology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and advise students.
- Proficiency in Adobe Software.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment.
- Access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent teaching experience at a college or university.
- Knowledge of UI / UX.
- Knowledge of Figma.
- Experience with creative workflows using Generative AI tools.
