Part-time Faculty Studio Art Instructor

Duties And Responsibilities

• Teach courses in fundamentals of 2-D design.
• Maintain classroom and follow safety guidelines.
• Monitor and utilize Blackboard.
• Keep track of student attendance and grades.
• Communicate with Department Chair and Staff regarding instructional needs.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Studio Art or related fields.
• A demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment.
• Willingness to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.
• Access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without a sponsor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience (instructor of record) at the post-secondary level.
• Experience with a vast array of 2-D practices including drawing and painting.
• Familiar and experienced with Interdisciplinary and contemporary practices.
• Knowledge of non-western practices.

• A CV that includes dates of employment in your application or attachment; a list of previous courses taught (and how many times each section was taught); designate instructor of record or teaching assistant.
• A 1-2 page cover letter along with an un-official copy of your transcripts from your highest degree earned which address the instruction of an introduction to two-dimensional design.
• A link to a portfolio demonstrating abilities in 2-D instruction (at least 5 works).
• If your degrees were earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
