About the role
The Writing Instruction Program (housed in the Department of English) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty. Faculty members might teach first-year writing or reading courses, including co-requisite courses with reading or writing support, and reading. These positions report to the Director of the Writing Instruction Program.
Responsibilities
- Teach between three and nine hours (1-3 classes) of college writing and/or reading per semester.
- Provide support to students through office hours.
- Align assignments and curriculum with programmatic and university student learning outcomes.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in English or a closely related field (with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in English)
- Strong background in and evidence of teaching composition and reading and working with first-year students.
- Experience teaching co-requisite writing courses and/or experience teaching non-native speakers is desired, as is a commitment to intercultural competence and inclusive excellence.
Qualifications
- The pay for a three-credit varies slightly based on years of experience and education but is projected to be between $2700 and $3000 per three-credit course.

Pay
