Part Time Educator - Portsmouth School Department

About the role

Right At School provides safe, fun, and meaningful extended day enrichment programs for students. Our after school, before school, and break camp programs give students a place to learn, play, grow, and be kids. We aim to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give parents peace of mind.

Responsibilities

• Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way.
• Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being, and attention of all children.
• Support homework completion, lead fun fitness activities, and guide children at play.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
• Meet regularly with the Program Manager regarding professional progress and team accountability.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• College credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or a related field preferred.
• High school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
• Ability to meet state-specific requirements, such as CPR, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, etc.

• Works well in a team environment.

Pay

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM and 3:15 PM - 6:00 PM.
