Part Time Educator - Orange County Public Schools

Right At School provides local school districts with before- and after-school extended-day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students. About the role

As an Educator, you will drive the mission by organizing and facilitating daily activities, leading by example to maintain a safe and nurturing environment, prioritizing safety and joy, and communicating effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily program meetings to review goals, share ideas, discuss professional progress, and encourage collaboration and team accountability.
• Organize and facilitate daily activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives, including structured fitness, educational, and enjoyable activities for all ages.
• Lead by example, modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management to ensure children enjoy themselves while meeting program goals.
• Prioritize safety and joy by monitoring the environment, addressing potential hazards, and following all safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and observations.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
• Ability to meet Virginia state-specific requirements, including:
  • First Aid and CPR certification (in-person).
  • Cleared tuberculosis test.
  • Proof of MMR vaccination.
  • 18+ years of age.
  • Proof of High School diploma or GED.

Pay

$16.00–$18.00 per hour, based on education and experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, split shift:

• Morning Shift: 6:30 AM – 9:05 AM
• Afternoon Shift: 3:40 PM – 6:00 PM

This role may be scheduled for up to 24.58 hours per week.
